Workshopbeschreibung
Conferences (graduate and other) are a good opportunity for PhD students to develop, discuss, and present their work to the larger academic community. A conference paper is usually both a written text and an oral presentation. In this workshop, we will first focus on the paper in its written form, we will consider some differences between academic writing in English and German, and discuss how one might approach writing an abstract. Then we will move on to the presentation of the paper and explore different strategies for delivering a successful presentation. The workshop might be especially useful to PhD students in the early stages of their studies or those looking to find a way into English-language presentations and publishing. Please note: focus will be placed on the humanities.
