Thesenpapier? Portfolio? Essay? Seminararbeit? German universities require a wide variety of written assignments at the end of a semester. How do we differentiate between these forms? What are some stylistic tendencies to keep in mind when writing German texts? If you want answers to any of these questions, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to get an impression of what awaits you in your writing journey here in Germany. Although mostly theoretical, this workshop will cover the most common types of written assignment types in Germany, the general German writing culture, and will leave time to answer further questions in plenum. This workshop will take place in English, but focuses on academic German writing conventions.
